  •   LBHS ATHLETES OF THE MONTH & SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD FOR FEBRUARY

    March 7, 2023

On behalf of the Lemon Bay High School Athletic Department, we would like to congratulate our February 2023 Athletes of the Month and Sportsmanship Award winners.

    ATHLETES OF THE MONTH:

    Girls Weightlifting: Addison Adcock, Senior

Addison is the 1A traditional STATE CHAMPION for Girls Weightlifting. She achieved this goal capping off a February where she won two regional championships, broke every school record in her weight class, and also took home a silver medal at states in the Olympic category. She is the first female weightlifting to be a Gold Medalist at states in schools' history, and the first girl to be a state champion at Lemon Bay since 2015. She led the team to a 2nd place finish at the State meet.

    Wrestling: Chase Alden, Senior

Going into the state tournament, Chase has a season record of 46-4. He was the region #2 ranked wrestler and a great leader. Chase was the Bidwell Champion (3rd time in a row), District Champion (4th in a row) as well as Runner up in the region. Chase is currently the number 2 ranked wrestler in the state. He will wrestle for the state championship in Lakeland

    SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD:

GIRLS WEIGHTLIFTING Sportsmanship: Presley Engelauf, Senior

Presley is a team leader and always there to encourage her teammates and competitors. At the state meet Presley completed her lifts and was on track to be a state champion. After a controversial call and other disputed circumstances, the title was awarded to another athlete. Presley displayed incredible maturity, was gracious to everyone, and represented Lemon Bay in the best possible manner claiming her second place medals. Her maturity and aplomb further represented Lemon Bay well in her actions as well as her athletic performance.

    GIRLS TENNIS: Rosey Lowder (Jr)
