I attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania (yes, you read that correctly) which is located in the town of Indiana in western Pennsylvania. After completing both a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and a Master of Education degree in Counselor Education from IUP, I taught for 4 years before making my way south to Englewood. Continuing as a classroom teacher, I was assigned to teach at Port Charlotte High School for 2 years then at brand new Vineland Elementary School for 2 years. For 11 years after that I worked as Vineland's guidance counselor before transferring to Lemon Bay in 2001. I enjoy working with students in grades 9-12 everyday as they formulate and carry out their post secondary career plans. It is exciting to discuss the many options available and to assist each student with the best course of action for him or her. Because I thoroughly enjoy my work, I want the same for our students.
I have been married since 1987 and we have enjoyed raising a daughter, Erin and son, Michael, both graduates of Lemon Bay (2006, 2009) and the University of Central Florida in Orlando. Raising children has been by far my favorite adventure! Nothing makes me happier or prouder than watching their lives unfold.
In my leisure time, I enjoy music, cooking, baking, gardening, a good farmer's market, Trader Joe's, traveling, free online shipping and watching sports. My current favorite TV shows are Grey's Anatomy, Scandal, The Voice, Food Network Star, Ellen and Modern Family.
