Stephanie Harper was born in Sweeney, Texas and raised in New Caney, Texas. After graduating high school, Harper attended Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics with a Math minor. Harper continued her college career at Texas A & M in Kingsville, Texas where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
Harper enjoyed an eight year career as a Civil Engineer in Training both in the Panhandle and South Florida regions. However, teaching has always been a passion. Therefore, Harper was determined to make the dream of becoming a teacher a reality. With her daughter and husbands encouragement, Harper started as a volunteer at Englewood Elementary in a third grade reading program and math tutor for fifth grade. She received a temporary teaching certificate from Manatee Community College and was given the great opportunity of working with the students at Lemon Bay.
As a fourth year teacher at Lemon Bay, Harper enjoys the students, staff, and friendly atmosphere. Harper is currently teaching Biology and Earth Science. Harper feels that it is great to see the students discover how much science can be integrated into their daily lives. It is a great feeling when the students realize how special an education makes them.
When Harper is not teaching at Lemon Bay, she enjoys volunteering with Pop Warner as a Cheer Coach. In addition, the Harper family likes spending time together fishing, golfing, going to the beach, bike riding, or watching sports.
